*So apparently he's not ALWAYS a bookish shut-in. Hiroshi is actually out and about today! To... get library books, okay, fine. But he's also at the pet store today, looking into octopus chow. Montfort's adorable, to be sure, and shockingly easier to take care of than what he's read about, but darned if he doesn't need a lot of love and care. Which is hard when you have a roommate that you have to constantly keep an eye on to make sure he's not either trying to feed it bad things or turn it into something NOT an octopus.

If he's not there, he's out in one of the parks, writing in a journal and looking at books. There might be a few psychology texts in there...*

[Oh hey, guess who else is in the library that afternoon! Gordon already has an impressive pile of journals under his arm, more than he himself could ever hope to read in two weeks... He smiles and waves Hiroshi down from the biology section.]

Hey, what're you doing inside on a day like this? [Said with a teasing smile. He's one to talk.]

Picking up some stuff for the Labs. There're a handful of guys in Bio that think that anemoi are product of some kinda biological process with the anaerobic microbes in the caves around here. I don't think the theory'll hold; the things may eat sulfur, but they can't crap memories.

[Spoken like a true intellectual. One may wonder why HE'S over here and not one of the biologists, then...]

They've got an idea that it's chemical. A drug, kind of. But why it works remotely when we process it with no identifiable connection to the user, no one can answer. I think it's pretty much dead in the water.

[He shrugs.]

But... that's why we call it a theory in the first place. They'll probably run some tests anyway and then send a team to root around in some caves for counting purposes. Gotta make sure they spend the money allocated to them, I guess...

What about you? Looking for something specific?

It sounds like you've got something on your mind... or someone's, anyway. Why the sudden interest in psych?

Hiroshi...

[He sighs, glancing down and pinching the bridge of his nose.]

It's probably not a good idea, no, but I know why you'd want to. If you really think you need help, then maybe you should seek out a professional. It's okay, that doesn't automatically mean you're crazy. As a matter of fact getting some help when you know you need it is the sanest thing a person can do.

...I think there are a few psychologists on the lab team, but they're more or less dedicated to the new arrivals; apparently the memory loss can really mess with people. I'm sure if they can't help you directly though they can point you to someone in town who can.

[Christ, what'd they do, threaten this kid with being locked up back at home?

[...

[Oh HELL. He has, hadn't he?]

Hey. You're not insane, kid! Stop calling yourself that. You'll be fine... I promise. All you need is someone to talk to about this.
