[Shirou is standing in a back alley. Normally he wouldn't come to a place so dark and secluded, but he doesn't want just anybody finding out what he can do. After all, Kiritsugu had taught him that it was imperative for magi to operate in secret.

He focuses on the memory he regained that afternoon. He thinks back on what he did. Structural analysis, reproduction. Projection.]

Trace, on.

[Oddly, Shirou doesn't feel the amount of strain that he remembered feeling. He can only conclude that he's gotten stronger.

But he doesn't let himself lose focus. He runs through all of the steps as quickly and efficiently as he can. When he feels that the procedure is complete, he opens his eyes.

A pair of short swords have appeared in Shirou's hands.]

Mr. Booster? I'd like to talk to you if you have the time. Is there someplace where we could talk in private?

[[1% spent on Shirou's first exchange against Kuzuki.]]

So you want to meet up so you can show me what you can do? Sure, I've got time, any particular kind of place you need?

Just one where it'd be hard for anyone to spot us. This is the sort of thing I've been taught to practice in secret.

You understand the League operates in public, right?

I know. But I think we can make it look like something more mundane.

Alright. Roof of the Suites sound good to you?

Sure. I can head up there any time. When should we meet up?

[Booster checks his watch.]

I've got enough free time right now if you do.

Sure. I'll head right up.

[And so he does. He gets up to the roof in about three minutes.]

[Booster, on the other hand, takes about 15 minutes to get there, not having been exactly nearby when he took Shirou's call. Unsurprisingly, he's still breathing kind of hard when he finally makes it onto the roof, but he manages a cheerful, friendly wave anyway.]

Hey! So what've we got?

[Eh, Shirou didn't mind. He spent the time practicing reinforcement. Unsurprisingly, none of it worked.]

All right. Here goes.

[He closes his eyes and focuses. He can see his Magic Circuit in his mind.]

Trace, on.

[He runs through the steps. Quickly enough, though, there's two flashes of light emanating from his hands. When they disappear, the previously-empty hands are now holding a pair of short swords.]

It's called projection. I can project objects like this...though I do better with swords than with anything else.

[He provides some applause.]

Pretty impressive power. Are they as real as they look?

They're...not as strong as the real thing. They break if they take a direct hit, but I can just project them again. But they definitely cut.

And you remember how to use them, right? No worries about severing any limbs?

...Actually, it's not something I need to learn. When I hold these swords in my hands, I feel like I instinctively know how to use them.

Good enough for me. You said you had to keep this stuff hush-hush, right? What're you going to do when they break in a fight?

I think my opponent would be too distracted to think about something like that.

It's not just your opponent you'd have to worry about. The stuff we do draws a lot of attention, and there are a lot of people with cameras out there. There's a reason masks and codenames are pretty common in this line of work, and it's not just because of the bad guys.

Oh, yeah. That's a good question.

Hey, wait a second. It might not be a problem after all. The problem with being public with magic back home is that you bring two organizations down on you like a pair of sledgehammers. But one organization might not even be in Sirocco...though the second may still be an issue.

Look, I'm not really interested in whatever secret society stuff you've got going on. Either you figure it out yourself and get back to me, or we can look into getting you fitted for a nice pair of tights. It's up to you.

...Yeah. All right, I'll see what I'm able to do here. I'll call you when I've got an answer, one way or another.
