(no subject)

*You might have seen Kotetsu recently. He's been around, usually looking at something or other. First he reads through the newspaper classifieds, drumming his fingers impatiently. When whatever he's looking for in THAT fails to produce any results, he's on his PDA, flitting through the net -- and when THAT doesn't work, he's sitting glumly on a bench, hat over his eyes.*

Damnit, where am I gonna find the cash to repair all that crap? I only get so much from the stipend...

*It seems like he's having money troubles. This COULD make him a suitable guy for hire -- assuming you can be arsed to hire him for anything.*

I imagine so. Every large population has to deal with crime. It's an admirable goal. [He does respectfully suppress his smile at Kotetsu's childish enthusiasm.]

Ah, do Heroes have special abilities as well? What kind?

[He reflects.] We might have to find you something else to do in the meantime, until you remember more details.

I hope so, too. I approve of anything that can reduce crime. [He smiles.] I'm rather dedicated to the cause of justice as well.

Yes, that's possible. [He himself has no memories of the kind, but he's willing to accept it could be true.] Have you remembered any special abilities, yourself?

I'm not sure if those in our situation are quite in a position to hire bodyguards. Are you in particular need of money? If not, you could simply volunteer your services. I worry about some of the children who are here without guardians, honestly.

Oh yes, I don't mean to pry. My apologies. I'll speak no more of it. However, if we do write up a proposal for the city in the future, you might have to trust some people with the secret. I'm not sure how such a thing will work, however.

I'm troubled by the fact that these young people have been taken from their families, their guardians. That isn't right. The adults among us should make an effort to look out for them.
