Hansel and Gretel Lived in the Woods
Who: All children and teens welcome.
What: The house made of sweets is begging to beeaten explored...
When: Halloween night!
Where: Only five minutes' walk into the woods...
Once upon a time, a very poor woodcutter lived in a tiny cottage in the forest with his two children, Hansel and Gretel. And everyone knows how that turned out. Their story is concluded. This is the story of a group of children who, alone, amnesic, and weary, wander into the woods chasing a wisp on the darkest night of the year, searching for a glimmer of excitement to light their hearts. This is the story of a group of children, who, if lost, would never be missed, not even by a poor woodcutter. Who mourns those with no past or future?

[Palom runs up eagerly, ignoring the fact that this was a giant open oven and stands as close to the flames as he dares.]
It's too bright to see...
no subject
[Rosalia hurries after him, trying to keep an eye on Palom to make sure he doesn't accidentally fall in. That fire looks strong; she wouldn't want anything to happen to him.]
Maybe we can find a way to make this fire less intense. Then if you want to see if there's anything in there, it won't be so dangerous.
no subject
[Brilliant idea lightbulb! Palom holds up a hand and a fireball appears.]
no subject
What are you going to do with that?
no subject
[And so Palom sends a blast of fire into the oven, which... responds by belching out massive flames. Might wanna duck.]
no subject
[Rosalia lets out a yelp and tries to pull Palom with her out of the way of the burst of fire.]
no subject
I guess whatever's in there is done now.
Thanks.
no subject
It's not a problem. But be careful next time, all right? You could have gotten hurt that way!

[But she can't stay mad for long, so--]
Should we get away from that oven?
no subject
...Sorry about that.
[Palom looks mildly uncomfortable for a second or two before nodding.]
Yeah, OK. There's better stuff to eat outside, any -- Whoa!
[And as Palom tries to take a step away, he trips.]
That's w -- augh!
[And slides again. Closer examination of the floor will reveal that as they were lying on the ground, the floorboards were slowly oozing...]
What is this stuff, butter?
no subject
I'm not sure I want to find out. Let's go!
no subject
[Palom's frontside is coated in slippery oil by now as he keeps attempting to slide forward.]
no subject
[She tries to pull him up, but then the added effort along with panic causes her to slip herself.]
Ah! Where's all this stuff even coming from, anyway?
no subject
I don't know! Maybe this is what happens when the house is making new candy to rebuild itself or something...!
I probably shouldn't have taken so much...
[Behind them, it seems the roar of the furnace is beginning to increase in volume...]
no subject
Oh, no...come on, we've got to get out of here!
[But easier said than done, and after a few seconds of more panic she realizes that maybe they're not doing the best they could.]
Okay, hang on. You stay down. I'll try to get up and then pull you up too, all right? And then we have to run!
no subject
[Palom looks a little shaken as he glances back at the furnace. He mumbles something.]
...I'm sorry about playing around earlier.
no subject
[Rosalia slowly gets up, using some nearby furniture to brace and support herself despite all the butter on the ground. Keeping a tight grip on it, she reaches out for Palom too.]
Let's just be careful about this in the future, huh? Once we're both okay.
no subject
A-Ah!
[There is an odd squelching sound.]
My shoes! They're stuck! ...C-Caramel?
no subject
Can you shake them off or anything? And then be careful about where you step!
no subject
[And Palom will very carefully try to pull his feet away without sliding to the ground again. Rosalia is probably lucky enough to get away unscathed.]
...Hey, what happens to caramel if you set it on fire?
no subject
[Rosalia definitely seems alarmed by that, but then again...]
I think...it hardens? It's a lot of burnt sugar, isn't it?
[A second look at the floor, another half-panicked shift in weight, and--]
If you're going to do it, hurry!
no subject
[And Palom will aim a fireball right down at the floorboards. Wherever the goo is coming from, it has to be somewhere down, right? For a moment, it doesn't seem as if anything is happening, but soon enough, the caramel stops oozing. Palom breaks a foot away.
...Perhaps more surprisingly, the whole house begins to shake soon after.]
no subject
Come on, let's go before it's too late!
no subject
You sure it's not too late already?! It sounds like it's gonna explode...!
[It doesn't, but exaggeration is one of his many talents.]
