[Salu, like everyone else in the city, didn't remember anything: who she was, where she came from, just her name. Which was, to say the least, mildly upsetting.

There were probably sensible ways of fixing this, but screw sensible. Sensible didn't get anything done. She was going to take a teleporter out 'cause she heard anemoi was out there, find some, get back to the city, and start remembering. And if anything got in her way she was going to beat it. With a large stick or whatever.

This was probably a stupid idea. Part of her recognized this. She didn't really care. Maybe she used to be more patient, reserved, calm, but there was only one way to find out. Which is why she was about to step into a teleporter and head out to who knew where.]

[That's Judicious McDeadpants to you. There is a sigh as Lawfer comes to a stop beside the others.]

Far be it for me to act as the voice of reason, but you are aware that bright color is an indication of acute toxicity? Do you expect the anemoi to blossom as fruit from these plants when they are consumed?

Who knows? We don't even know what anemoi looks like.

[He appears to be reconsidering eating the plant, though.]

I feel we ought to expect them to burst forth from the fauna, not the flora. Monsters and demons are keen on hoarding such things...

[Marble-like things. Lawfer has the distinct feeling that all monsters carry marble-like things.]

[identity profile] seeker-of-law.livejournal.com 2011-10-02 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I thirst for law. In such a realm, order can be enforced only by purging the land of the monsters that plague it.

[That is totally rustling. Lawfer can use a halberd about as well as Salu can use a stick right now, but even so, he reacts instinctively by swinging towards the sound.]

...And the adventure begins.

[identity profile] bulletserenade.livejournal.com 2011-10-02 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[As soon as he hears the rustling, Jr. turns serious. He draws both guns and steps in front of his companions.]

Be careful.

[identity profile] seeker-of-law.livejournal.com 2011-10-03 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
...If we are outclassed, the two of you must retreat to the transporter. I am the most well-defended.

[Lawfer keeps his halberd steady and his feet ready to spring.]

[identity profile] bulletserenade.livejournal.com 2011-10-03 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
Like hell I will! I'm not goin' anywhere.

[Except forward, of course. Jr. doesn't get more than a few steps ahead before something swings out of the branches of the tree right in front of him and collides with his head.

After an impressive clonk, Jr. falls backward, momentarily knocked unconscious.]

[identity profile] seeker-of-law.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
[As Jr. is struck, Lawfer swings around rapidly in a bid to strike at the monster. Salu is quicker, with her less hefty weapon, and he stops himself before he impales either of his companions with his halberd.]

...I would not keep holding that, if I were you.

[All the same, adventure was not quite as adventurous as he had thought it would be. Lawfer will kneel beside Jr. to check for injury.]

[identity profile] seeker-of-law.livejournal.com 2011-10-05 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Alive.

[Lawfer hesitates for a moment before leaning his halberd against a nearby tree and reaching down to try and pick up the kid.]

Do we continue forward or retreat? ...A single blow taking one of us from the action does not bode well.

[identity profile] bulletserenade.livejournal.com 2011-10-05 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Jr. moans and tries to sit up - except that he's no longer on the ground, but being carried instead. He starts to flail a bit.]

Wh... wha' happen'd.

[identity profile] seeker-of-law.livejournal.com 2011-10-06 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
As you say. Perhaps more thorough preparation ought to be made.

[Also ignoring the kid. If Jr. is awake, he can walk himself back to the telporter. Lawfer lets the boy slide out of his arms.]

[identity profile] bulletserenade.livejournal.com 2011-10-06 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Jr. slides to the ground and blinks a few times before standing up. And swaying a bit.]

H-hey. No! We needta find out what hit me!
Edited 2011-10-06 03:08 (UTC)

I'm not sure what we're planning, but I'm gunning for some action. Hope it's OK!

[identity profile] seeker-of-law.livejournal.com 2011-10-07 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
We already found out what hit you. We also already kicked it into the bushes.

[Lawfer steadies Jr. as he picks his halberd back up again.]

Whatever creatures live in this forest, we are ill-equipped to --

[Whatever Lawfer thinks they are ill-equipped to do, he's certainly ill-equipped to prevent the spray of sticky thread from blinding him. As he opens his mouth to shout reflexively, it is quickly filled with the same substance; as he raises his hands to protect his face, they are bound by the same substance.

The creature they had thrown away stops spraying and begins to hiss in anger. ...Or was that a call to alert other denizens of the forest?]
