[Action]

[There's a new arrival. He's wandering around a small portion of the city -- mainly in and near the labs and the apartment building. He's looking around as if seeing everything for the first time, so it's clear he isn't one of the natives. Eventually he returns to his room in the apartment and pulls out the smartphone that was given to him upon his arrival.]

Hey, I'm new here, and I've got a question. How many people here showed up without their memories and were given a job by the local government?

[ If Shirou's luck is a rank higher than Lancer's, then maybe, just maybe he might come across this girl sitting on the steps to one of the doorways to the apartment building. With her right arm holding onto her left, grimacing in pain (but desperately trying to hide it), she seems to ignore the world around her.

Including the smartphone she was given resting on the ground with a couple of scuff marks. Maybe she dropped it. Maybe she threw it. Regardless, it is out of her reach and something she doesn't seem to value much. ]

[Shirou being Shirou, he sees this and stops. The only thing that's going through is mind is, "I need to help this girl."]

Hey, are you all right? What happened?

[ Fingers dig in deeper to her arms as she looks up at him, almost as though she were a frightened animal lost in the wilderness. ]

Wha-? [ Letting go, she whips her hair over her shoulder. ] Of course I'm fine!

You don't look it. You look like you've been hurt.

[ Pulling up sleeve, she shows her arm that seems to be perfectly fine save for the four red marks from her fingernails. ]

Does it look like it now?

...Uh. Then.

...Muscle cramp?

No.

[ A groan as she fixes her sleeve, resuming the tight grip on her arm. How does she explain to a stranger she's just met that this is something magical and she's always had to deal with the pain without sounding touched in the head?

Simple.

She can't.

So she doesn't. Instead she just sits there in pain, hoping he'll go away. ]

...Maybe you should go see a doctor.

Pretty much all us new arrivals, from the sounds of things, actually. Kind of nuts, isn't it?

Yeah, I was told that all the new arrivals lose their memories when they show up. But how many people showed up like that?

A bunch of 'em from the sounds of things, and there's still more of them coming. Makes you wonder what the hell's up.
