[That shakes Danny out of his stupor enough to turn around to the source of the noise and shout back.]

WELL, SORRY, BUT IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S EVERY DAY YOU FIND OUT YOU'RE NOT DEAD!

"I WAKE UP EVERY MO--Hold on a minute..."

Danny's phone now has Shen on the other end. "I wake up every morning realising I'm not dead by sheer dint of the fact that I woke up at all." A beat. "...This isn't a regular occurrence, is it? I mean, you aren't going to go charging out into the yard every morning screaming that you're alive, are you?"

What? No! I've just been waking up every day thinking I'm dead--I just remembered that I'm actually not! So sorry if I'm making you cranky, but it's kind of a life-changing thing to remember!

Flashback to what Gordon said the other day about Shen getting more and more violent and hot-tempered. He pulls in a long breath and lets it out in a clear effort to cool his own head.

"Apologies. I... don't do well being woken up suddenly. I suppose remembering that one isn't dead is rather a drastic realisation." He headtilts. "Where are my manners? My name is Shen." He offers a rueful half-smile. "Seems I'm constantly finding people who've been here for a while whom I've never met."
