I finally remembered something! There was a man who visited me - I think it must have been at my house. He said he was part of something called Human Activists for Rare Monsters, and he wanted me to help protect a rare monster for him called a Putty.

It was really cute! But we ran into a lot of monsters when we followed it... We had no choice but to fight. ...Did I normally do that?

There was a large monster that attacked it, and I remember we were able to rescue Putty, but... I don't remember what happened after that. I hope he's safe...

I... think so? The one we were trying to catch was just trying to run. It didn't seem aggressive at all.

But it was just trying to run away... I don't mind protecting a monster like that.

Why would a monster run away, though? I thought monsters attacked people.

Not all of them... I think. And if they do, they must have a reason for it, right? Like protecting their homes, or...

Uh...what did they do, exactly?

They protect rare monsters from being hunted or mistreated. The one we were looking for had been captured and locked away, but Mr. Canary helped it escape. But after that it ran away, so that's why we had to go looking for it.

I don't think the monsters I've had to fight were attacking because we were threatening their home.

But how do you know the difference between them? Only when they start to run?

I think so... But I'm sure the ones that attacked us must have had a reason, too.

...They say they do, so they must, right? I hadn't heard of them until I met Mr. Canary though.

So they attack trolls and humans, or...?

I'd bet they attack anything that lives in Sirocco.

But when they were on their own...were they okay? I mean, I'm guessing that people didn't like them much, if they were monsters, so did they get hurt by people or something once they were set free?

But there has to be a reason... I don't think even monsters would just attack like that. Maybe if they were hungry, or hurt, or scared...

...I'm not sure. I think people mostly left them alone, but...

[She pauses for a moment before sighing.]

Whatever the reason, we had to fight back.

[She looks a little down at the thought, but nods.]

...If you were attacked, I can understand that.

I never knew why they did it, only that they did it. But.. in that case, they're the same as people, right?
