He glances down and away for just a moment, raking back his hair the way he does when he's thinking.

"Mission went a little weird. We found something else that looked familiar to me, this one a little more dangerous than those sonic jellybeans we saw in the ruins."

That's an understatement.

Feathery brows meet and, if the length of time they're there is any indication, discuss the weather.

"How dangerous?" Beat. "Is everyone all right?"

"Yes, thank god. It was apparently being used in some experiments or something. Had it hooked up directly to some kind of anemoi reactor tanks. I couldn't tell exactly what they were doing, the thing had a hold of us before I could figure it out."

"That sounds... gruesome. How did you stop the creature?"

"Samus managed to blast it from outside its radius of capture, and that caused it to drop us. Looks like a missile to the face can break anything's concentration..."

Then he realizes he missed a key point.

"...It wasn't exactly using any arms to grab us. You know, normally I'd try to be skeptical about psychokinesis, but I have no room to doubt here."

5th century, Gordon. Back then, mental powers were simply called 'magic.' Yanno. Along with most of physics. "Psycho-whatnow?"

"Psychokinesis. It was holding us with just it's mind, somehow." He explains.

"Its... mind? Some sort of magic?"

Oh, crap. He used the m-word. Forgive him, he knows not what he does....

"Not exactly. There's probably a medium for transmission of the power, but damned if I want to think about it right now."

And puzzles like that are normally irresistible to him...

"It was in some sort of containment unit; probably to shield the effects... Wish I'd known that before I broke the power supply to it."

"... I'm told letting monsters out is usually a bad idea, yes," the bird answers drily. Confuse him with science all you like, but he'll never miss an opportunity to point out common sense.
