He's trying to say something sarcastic, like "Well so much for my plan to order celebratory strippers after this stuff is finished" or "Gosh and here I was going to recruit you for wingman duty" but, of course, those would count as falsehoods, so he can't. Man, this communicating honestly stuff is hard.]

Hopefully the kid'll open up about it. That kind of thing is a lot to carry on your own, no matter which one it is.
