[video] permanezcan sentados, por favor

My last name is Sartre. I grew up with my father Albert and my brother Erhard in Maine. He's eight years older than me and was in college and already a surgeon when he was sixteen. He'd sometimes help my dad research something in my blood. I mostly just saw him during the summers, but I saw my dad every day. He'd help me with my homework if I needed it, and sometimes had bedtime stories. I went to Cumberland Elementary School until I was eight. My teacher's name was Mrs. Scherer. Then my dad quit working as a professor at Cumberland College and we moved to Mexico so that he could continue his research there, although my brother stayed in Maine for school.

Not bad for someone who supposedly can't remember anything before the age of 15, huh? Guess this place must've done something to reset my amnesia so I could remember everything instead of stuff only after showing up at Providence!

[Wait... he remembers Rosalia mentioning a blood-bourne illness at one point...]

You... you sure about all that, Rex? That's a lot of stuff to remember all at once.

[He grumbles. At one point he would have been, maybe, but now...]

I'm not JEALOUS. Something funny's going on lately, is all. Some of us are getting some pretty wacky memories that don't coincide with their previous once at all!

...I got some memories of my own earlier that couldn't possibly be mine, Rex, and I think I'm not the only one. It could be a screwup at the Labs, I don't know, I was off duty at the time... or...

Wait. Did you see that phantom train thing earlier today? Yesterday, sometime? Damn thing tried to run ME over. Technically it succeeded but... well... it's a phantom train.

Yeah, but haven't you noticed that thing tends to bring the weird shit with it? The bounce goo, for instance, was the first time I spotted it! The forced honesty thing? It was there too! That was over the whole town, however; this time it's just one person at a time, and everyone who remembered all this crazy stuff seems to have seen it before then.

Sorry, Rex, but something's up, I know it. These memories are false, or they're half-truths or mixed up or something.

You're just not going to lis--

[He stops, pinching the bridge of his nose. Rex is clinging to the memories, and he can kind of see why. Every one of them needed something to remember, to identify themselves with, and Rex most of all because he's only got half his past in the first place. All told, he'd probably would do the same thing.]

Arright, Rex, we'll see. [He shrugs.] I could always be wrong, God knows it's happened before.
trustycrowbar: (You're kidding right?)

I'm saying I MIGHT be wrong. No one's really going to know until we figure it out for certain.

I know what these memories mean to you, kid. It means more to you than it does to everyone. If they're genuine, then great, it means you've finally got a hold on what happened before you hit that Providence place you were talking about, and I will PERSONALLY admit I was wrong about all this.

I just don't want you to get taken in by ones that might not necessarily be true. From what I figure, that'd be worse than nothing at all.
