Ah, hello! I was wondering if anybody else was having some odd memories. Only I just remembered now that I had a second... shall we say "apprentice" of sorts, but it does not truly make a lot of sense. One is a mouse, one is a cat. Surely the two would clash, would they not? Or is that just a silly myth? Oh, I simply haven't been the same since that strange device seemed to rush into me.

"This is going to be a very strange question, but... this device--it didn't look like a horrifying train, did it?"

I do believe that's what they are called, yes! I am not entirely certain, mind. Does it sound familiar?

"I hallucinated just such a thing running me down not long ago... and I'm beginning to suspect it wasn't an hallucination at all..."

How troublesome. A train follows rails, does it not? It should stay on them like a proper train then. Do you find yourself having incongruities in your memories as well, Shen?

"I... I have, yes." He's starting to look very ruffled, indeed, and pushing his wing through his crest isn't helping. "It makes absolutely no sense. Why on earth would I want anything to do with an attempt to take over the moon? There's nothing there."

You never know. There are many things that evade common knowledge simply because they fall too far into the realm of legend. I cannot say for certain if the moon is empty at all or not.

Hmm. Curious. Perhaps this mouse memory is erroneous after all. It is strange, however; I feel that even if the memory is wrong, the world is RIGHT. Curious, is it not?

"I don't recall ever hearing of anything on the moon, but... you may be right."

A beat.

"The world? The world that the memory is in or... the world around us--er, you?"

The world of the memory. It feels familiar. Like the elements are all in place. I wonder if this means I have somehow remembered something of a compatriot's? Well, wouldn't that be funny! Someone out there from my world, and I do not even remember it!

"It'd be oddly like having an old friend nearby that you can't remember and don't recognise."

Precisely! I wonder if these memories will switch back? I would so love to know whose this is.

Yep, that sounds like a pretty terrible combination.

Oh dear, I rather thought so. It seems like such a lapse in judgement on my part that I simply cannot believe this is my memory at all! Isn't that strange?

Well who else's memories would you have other than your own?

That's just it. Why would I have any other memories? It is quite troubling.

Well hmm. When you think about it, someone already stole our memories, right? So it only makes sense that memories can be moved around.

I suppose so. I wonder who this "Nazrin" person is, then? I mean, I remember her as dutifully loyal, but...

Hmm... I believe the mouse must have come first, as it feels like she has been around for a very long while. The cat is still young, however; I cannot imagine she has had two tails for incredibly long.

Then maybe the mouse had time to become powerful enough to fend off the cat!

Perhaps, but it still seems like an odd choice. I suppose beggars cannot be choosers when it comes to shikigamis. Although the mouse girl... I don't quite remember her as a SHIKIGAMI, per se.

Um...no, I'm sure they would clash. Cats prey on mice.

I THOUGHT so! This is most perplexing. I don't really remember them clashing either.

That is...rather surprising. Maybe they were simply well-disciplined?

That would be an astounding endorsement of my tutelage, would it not? But no, I am not so confident I would be able to maintain the peace so easily.

Well, I'm afraid that's the only explanation I can come up with.

Odd is a... complimentary way to describe them, but yeah. Suddenly I was sent somewhere to track down a freakin' zombie sorcerer, and have a wife and kid I knew nothing about!

And I'm pretty sure Rudolph mentioned the wife earlier. Kind of awkward.

What strange device are you talking about?

Um, I may be wrong, but I believe they're called "trains?" I would have thought the impact to be much more fatal, to be honest, but somehow I seem to be all right aside from this confusion.

This wouldn't be... the same train that showed up during that forced honesty thing, would it?

Perhaps? I am not certain I caught sight of it before that nonsense.

If it was, then there's every possibility these memories people have been getting are false... or something. Hard to tell exactly what, but...

Or something. What a bother. It is hard enough to regain my own memories without getting the entirely wrong ones.

Curious, though. I wonder who could have received mine, then? And what was it? I hope it wasn't too bad. I would hate for someone to think poorly of me for something in my past, even if I felt justified in it.

I mean, who can say really? The best thing I can recommend is to keep an ear to your phone and see if something sounds familiar.
