[Hey, everyone. It's Theta Sigma again. He looks a bit... annoyed.]

'Allo. I've got a question.

[He hefts a little brown and white kitten into view.]

Anyone want a cat? I can't handle this animal, I just can't--

"That's 'cuz you're a wuss!" [Yes, that tiny voice came from the kitten. It TALKS.]

You can see why, can't you?

"You just can't handle my sheer good looks and virility! You're threatened, human! Threate--oo!" [This last happens because he drops the kitten into a box.]


Otherwise, he's a perfectly normal kitty. Collar says his name's 'Mittens,' but I don't think it fits 'im. If you take 'im off my hands you can name him whatever you want.

[The kitten peers over the edge of the box and looks at the screen. Awwwww, he's so cuuuuu--]

"You think you can handle me, kid?"

Any proper magician needs some kinda familiar, and talking cat is classic material. Yep, this'll do nicely.

"Familiar?! What kinda cat'choo think I am, sister? I'm a free spirit, I'm--" [He breaks off as Theta Sigma closes the box. There's string of muffled objections and one feline eye trying to stare balefully out through an airhole.]

I'm in Room 317, whenever you want to pick him up.

[About a minute later, the door is flung open. What is this knocking thing everyone keeps talking about?]

Here to pick up one faithful familiar!

[Most people would object, but Theta Sigma doesn't seem to care.]

'Allo! Here he is!

[You've probably never seen anyone so glad to hand over a kitten. Usually people make sad sounds and extract promises from the receiver to take care of the wee thing and wibble meeble eef. Not so this fellow. He picks up the box and holds it out as though handing over radioactive material.]

"Yer gonna regret this, Skinny!"

[And that would be why.]
