Hello♪ A couple of people have mentioned Thanksgiving to me and I really didn't understand the last holiday.. um, I really don't understand holidays in general. You see, we didn't do things of that nature back home. In fact, I think we only partied when we had a reason to. [ A pause. ] Well no, that's not right at all. People partied even when they weren't really supposed to.

I mean though as a group! [ Sure is awkward now. ] Hehehe, I think I'm trying to ask if there's anyone out there who's willing to explain these things to me. I don't want to be an idiot and offend the other party unknowingly.

So that's it from me! Bye bye now!

I could always give it a shot! Thanksgiving's more of an American sorta thing though, I thinks, but just ask me whatever you need!

Oh, that's the easy part! You gets a bunch of people together, get some food, get some drinks, maybe even a few games here and there, and tada! You got a celebration! Of course, some of 'em have a few extra little stuffs here and there. You give presents to people on Christmas, for example!

If they aren't, I'm totally gonnas! I don't think I've ever celebrated a Thanksgiving before, so it could be fun!

We can help you with that one!

We were just talking about it, actually!

You see, Thanksgiving is all about thanking people for giving things. Ever since the turkey pilgrim came to America.

They traveled in a big ship from Europe!

It was called the May-Flour. The turkey pilgrims brought lots of flour with them because they wanted to make bread for the natives!

But they accidentally hit a big rock though when they got here. So their boat was ruined and they were stuck.

Then the natives came, and they were giant cats! The turkeys were scared, because cats eat birds!

Instead of coming to eat the poor turkeys though, they brought enough corn for everyone!

So the turkeys thanked them for giving them the corn by baking them bread with the flour they brought. And that's where cornbread comes from!

You don't know what cornbread is?!

It has all the benefits of corn AND bread at the same time!

Well, Thanksgiving is a holiday that's celebrated in a different country from the one I lived in, but I know at least the basics of it, plus many other holidays. Perhaps I could be of assistance?

[identity profile] sacred-thunder.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
...Nuisance?

Well, it's true that I've helped you out a couple of times since you arrived, but you shouldn't think of it as being a nuisance. I've assisted you because I chose to do so, not out of a sense of obligation.

[identity profile] sacred-thunder.livejournal.com 2011-11-21 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
You've offered to accompany me on anemoi hunts. I consider that a help.

[identity profile] sacred-thunder.livejournal.com 2011-11-21 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps so, but knowing that someone is ready to go with me should I want to head out regardless of circumstance is something reassuring to have.

[identity profile] sacred-thunder.livejournal.com 2011-11-21 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's right.

But back to the original topic, would you like me to tell you what I know?

[identity profile] sacred-thunder.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Of course.

Anyway, Thanksgiving is a day celebrated in a specific country. Families get together and have a great feast, and give thanks for the things they're thankful for in their lives.

[identity profile] sacred-thunder.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
That, I'm afraid I don't know. It's certainly the impression that my country's media has.

...The hell is "Thanksgiving"? Sounds lame.

...If it's a party you're after, though, now that I can provide!

Beat up enemies then celebrate the victory with singing and beer? Now you're talking!
