Fashion freaks!

WHO: Tsuruya, Yuri Petrov, and anybody else interested in the wonderful world of FASHION! ...or just yakking with the model.
WHAT: Totally super megas awesome winter clothing line!

Tsuruya may be eccentric, but she's definitely a looker, and K K Ace Designs wasn't particularly picky about who would model to begin with. So she's here already, trying out the few designs they've got. And hey, who's she to complain? Free clothes, free lunch, and it's not even interrupting her day job!

"Ooh, I like this one! I think you could stand to contrast the colors here a bit more, though," she comments on one outfit, shifting this way and that. A few nods, and some notes. Wow, this is great! After all, how many girls dream of this sort of job? She hopes someone else joins in!

"I've got the candy!"

This is announced loudly as someone who has absolutely no business being in this building bangs through the doors. Palom is ten steps in before he notices he's in the wrong place. As stated, there is a small pile of wrapped chocolates in his arms. Heaven knows where he got it all.

"Ohhh. Whoops. I thought all the clothes hanging in the window was kinda weird. ...Hey, what're you doing? Why're there so many mirrors?"

Luckily, small children are immune to petrifying glares or Palom would be stone already.

Well, there's someone not glaring, anyway, and it happens to be the model.

"Heeey, I didn't know candy came with this job! That's awesome! Hahahahaha! Nah, nah, just kidding, just kidding. We're making new clothes, Palom! Isn't that megas swell?" asks Tsuruya, posing a bit.

Palom glances down at the stuff in his hands and frowns a little. "Well. I guess it's OK if you take some! ...Not the Reese's, I like those." He scampers a little closer to peer at whatever Tsuruya's wearing, as well as the other clothes all over the racks.

"Why do you need new clothes? I just wear the same ones all the time."

Haha! What a little boy thing to say! She grins. "Well, some of us like candy, and some of us like clothes! So we makes new clothes for the folks who likes the clothes, and the candies for the folks who likes the candies, and everybody gets things they like! Besides, sometimes yer clothes get holes in them you can't fix, or things like that. Besides, people like to look their best!"

Not that she expects him to really get the idea, but at least she gave it the old college try! ...not that she's been to college yet as far as she can tell!

"Ohhh."

...

"I don't get it." Of course not. "I guess you could make new clothes when you get holes in them, but you can't do anything with 'em otherwise. It's just... wearing stuff. Everyone should just spend a lot more time inventing better candy or important stuff like that."

"Well, I like wearing stuff. It's like eye candy! Get it? Hahahaha!" She laughs, good and hearty. "Well, I wouldn't expect you to understand, but this is very important business for some people, you know? It's how they get to show off their creative sides!"

Palom squints a little bit at the closest thing to him, which is a dress with way too many sequins on it and not at all appropriate for winter.

"It kinda looks like a lot of dumb girly stuff. Are you sure?"

"Sure, it's dumb girly stuff! I'm a girl, so it makes sense, right?" She grins. "Come on, I bet we could get you into some nice new kids clothes too! You'll feel real swell, and I bet they'd pay ya a bit for the modeling!"

"But... You're not a dumb girl, right?" Palom scowls a little. "And I'm not changing. These are my mage robes. I bet the stuff here couldn't protect from magic if you wore everything all at once and rolled around in a big ball.

What's modeling, anyway?"

"Well if you say I'm not, I must not be! But I do like my clothes anyway!" She winks, and twirls.

She raises a finger. "Hey, but what if they COULD find a way to enchant a new set 'a clothes! Wouldn't a new set be awesome?"

She thinks. "Modeling, hmm, it's like... it's like showing everybody how cool you are by putting on neat stuff so you can show how cool somebody else's clothes are! Or your own, even, if you make 'em!" she replies cheerfully.

"How cool you are?" Palom scoffs. "I don't need to put on new stuff to show that. That's what's cool about me! I'm cool no matter what I'm wearing. ...Right?" The correct answer is 'no not at all' but Tsuruya may wish to spare his ego. "And I guess if you could find me better mage robes, that'd be OK, but a dress just isn't gonna cut it."

"Of course, of course! But some of us need a little more help, ya know? Hahahaha!" Sparing egos? Tsuruya's GREAT at it, especially with kids.

The comment about a dress just makes her laugh that much more. As if it's difficult to get her laughing. "Nah, little boys don't need to wear dresses! But hmm... designer mage robes! I betchas they'd sell like hotcakes! I'll talk to them and see if they know anything about that sorta stuff, okay?"

"That sounds cool. ...Er. Cool-er. If they're paying people for free trials of that, I'd sign up!" Palom squints at Tsuruya for a bit. "...I bet you'd be good in them, too. You'd look better in a white mage outfit."

"Oh? Really? Hey, why doncha show me what a white mage outfit looks like? I'd like to see one!" she exclaims, to the facepalming of the designers around her. Man, they really got a handful with this lady.

"Huh?" Palom blinks for a moment or two. "...Yeah, sure! Hold on." And he drops his armful of candy and begins getting his grubby little hands all over the dresses and coats and stuff. "So it's kind of like this... but white. And lower. And it opens up down here. And there's like a red thing over there. And a hood! Like this one has, except fluffier! And cooler. Way cooler."

There's some more protests from the designers, and a few may try to get Palom to stop touching everything already, but Tsuruya waves them off. Come on, it's not like they can't get cleaned or something. "Hmm, way cooler, huh? Maybe you could draw up something and these guys could whip something up!"

More groans. What is WITH this girl. If they weren't short-handed...

"Sure! They'll make it exactly like I draw it, right?" Palom beams and takes out a pen, leaning forward onto a white dress to begin to try to draw...

Whoaaaaa ho ho ho, okay, there are limits! The designers pull forward and stop the kid from PERMANENTLY marring their designs. Tsuruya sweatdrops a bit.

"I... kinda meant on some paper," she suggests sheepishly. Welp.

"You shoulda said that in the first place." Palom wrenches his awesome cape away from the stupid adults and sticks out his tongue a little. "You got any?"

"My bad!" she apologizes, as one of the designers hands Palom some paper and a pencil almost IMMEDIATELY. Anything to get the kid away from the products. "So let's take a look then!"

Palom holds the pencil high up in the air and then casts the black major spell of Super Awesome Drawing. ...Except it doesn't exist and so what Tsuruya will end up getting is, after careful attention to detail and a lot of squinting, a stick figure wearing what seems to be a large bedsheet with a lot of squiggles on it.

"There!"

"Hmm..."

She squints at it and turns her head, her tongue sticking out of her head. The other designers look at it, and sighs. She smiles at them in a sort of "come on, indulge the kid" look, and one of them (who has kids of his own) gets started.

"Looks like they can work with that! I can't wait to see how it comes out!"

Palom beams. "Yeah! I bet it'll be a huge hit. They'll pay me for having such a great design idea, right?"

"Of course, of course!" She grins. "But hey, you'd better finish delivering what yous were delivering before, right? Don't wanna be late!"

"Huh?"

Palom stares for a few moments before his attention flashes back to the candy.

"Oh, yeah! .............I forgot who I was bringing this to."

"I'm pleased you like it so far. More contrast, you think?" Yuri considers the suggestion, without changing his expression. He'd thought the blue and green complimented each other nicely, but he could alter the particular shades. He makes a note of it.

"Personally, I'm not fond of where the hemline falls. What do you think?"

Tsuruya twirls a bit. "Nah, nah! You got it pretty good here! But, hmm, maybe just a wee bit of altering of the hemline. You're pretty darned good at this, Mr. Petrov!" she replies, grinning.

She turns. "It's almost kind of a pity you're a lawyer and not a fashion designer. But we need lawyers too, so I guess it all works out!"

"Oh, it's merely a hobby. My mother taught me when I was young. I don't believe I could do it professionally, and I do prefer my work as a lawyer." He smiles. "But I thank you. Yes, I don't think the hem is quite right. I'll have it altered."

He makes another note. This is a temporary job that he's primarily doing to be helpful, but he takes it quite seriously. "And how are you enjoying your stint as a model?"

"Okay dokey! Wanna try the next one?" she suggests. "And hey, you must've had a swell Mom! Not too many moms teach their boys stuff like that. Or their daughters, these days!"

She looks through some of the other things. "Yeah! It's swell! It makes me feels like I'm glamorous, ya know?"

"Yes, let's move on." He smiles.

"I don't remember very much about my mother yet, but I do remember wanting to learn to do all the things she knew how to do, when I was a child. She taught me to cook, as well."

Yuri nods. "I'm glad. You're doing quite well. Do you have a job back home?" He pauses to indicate one of the dresses. "How about this one?"

"Wow, a guy who cooks and makes his own clothing? Be still my heart! Hahaha! That's megas great, though! I hope you remember more."

She doesn't add, "And that whatever those memories are don't end up being painful."

"Who, me? I don't think so," she replies, thinking. "I gets the feeling I was the sort born with a silver spoon in my mouth, you know? I could focus on my school studies and not worry about stuff like that. Here, though, I've been having to do a lot more work -- and it's not really bad! I gets to meet all sorts of new people, and it's a lotta fun, if kinda tiring!"

She looks at what he's pointing to. "Oooh, that one looks super! I'm gonna go try it on now!" She snags it off the rack and goes to the changing room.

"Mokona likes the hat! It looks super warm and cozy!"

Mokona is nestled in a cast-off scarf on a sewing table as the designers work their magics.

"You think so? Hey, Moko-nyo, you want one? I betchas we could get them to make one for you too!" she exclaims cheerfully. "You're working hard with that job board after all!"

"Yeah! Mokona wants one in red!"

Mokona pokes her head out to talk, but then tucks her ears back in.

"All right! Hey guys, can I gets a version of this hat in red? If you don't wants to give it to me for free, you can takes it outta my paycheck a bit! I don't mind!" she exclaims cheerfully, with the abandon of a woman who remembers not having to worry about money all that much.

She twirls around again. "There ya go, Moko-nyo! This is fun! Thanks for forwarding me to this job!"

"Uwaa. Tsuruya is a great person!"

Mokona rolls around in the scarf.

"It's a good job for someone stylish, after all!"

"You think I'm stylish? Aww, you're sweet! That's why I love ya, Moko-nyo!"

She twirls enthusiastically. "Hey, just getting to try on all these megas great new fashions is almost payment in itself!"
