[002] video - acting his age, now that he knows it
[Ken is making a post to the network! (On purpose and everything.) And what's more, he honestly looks happy. Maybe even relieved.]
Everyone, thank you. I'm truly grateful for all of the help I've received.
I'd like to introduce myself to you all again. Good afternoon.
My name is Ichijouji Ken. I'm eleven years old.
And I think.....
[He pauses. He didn't get that many memories back, after all: so this part is hazy, just a snapshot of a hallway, footsteps moving down it: his footsteps. A hand puts a key in a door: his hand. A sign by the door labels it as apartment 303 - "Ichijouji".
An apartment with a name on the door. A place he lives. What kind of place? He doesn't remember. But he can't have lived there all alone.]
....I think....I have a family.
[[First AC regain - 1% spent on surname and age, as remembered by staring at the address plaque outside his apartment.]]

This is the first time I've been sure. But now I do know there's a place where I belong. There are people who'd be happy I exist.
Feels pretty good, doesn't it?
....yeah.
[Even if it's just a name and an age. But he's smiling.]
I'm sorry it's not something that can help around the apartment.
[Happy roommates are better than depressed ones, anyway.]
Do you - remember your family, Barnaby-san?
[And...for him? It's one of the best things he could have ever remembered.]
I see....parents....

I hadn't thought of that. It's a lovely sentiment.

That'll - include shooting the film, of course. I'm looking forward to helping the children.

Families are super neat, huh?
no subject
...I don't have to see them yet to know.

How many more has Ken made so far?
no subject
...I'm sorry. I like and admire everyone I've met. But I'm not sure what beyond that qualifies someone for friendship.
no subject
But that's a good start!
no subject
At least - four friends, I think. Probably more.
I'm pleased you've remembered more, Ken. I hope you'll continue to gain good memories.
I'm sure I will. Even if some are sad....I'll treasure them. Because they're all important parts of who I am.

That's a good way to look at it. In a way, we're regaining ourselves along with our memories, and there's no way of telling what we'll remember or when. So far, I've remembered more about my work than my personal life.
[A pause. He's still somewhat worried about people experiencing a shock from less benign memories, but then, he tends not to expect the best.] If there's ever anything you need, or need to talk about, don't hesitate to ask.
no subject
...I'll be certain to. Thank you.
no subject
Huh. That's certainly a nice thing to remember. Good for you.
[somehow he manages to sound sincere and skeptic at the same time]
no subject
Ah, thank you....
I'll work hard with everyone to remember more.

Out of curiosity, how long have you been here?
no subject
Not - very long. Less than a month. I don't know whether this pace is typical.

This - isn't a bad place, to recover our pasts. Everyone's helpful.
no subject
By 'everyone', do you mean the ones like us, who can't remember things, or the people running this place?

[he picks up on that uncertainty though]
Has the laboratory given someone else trouble?

Just...with so little known, trust doesn't come easily. For some.
