[003] action - happy digi new year
[private]
[Ken'd taken the anemoi from the hailstorm to the lab as soon as he could, though his reward from the prehistoric adventure remains on his desk. He's debating giving those anemoi to new arrivals...and yet, selfishly, he wants to remember more.
He wants to see his family's faces. He wants to know what kind of a person he is, and hopes he can be proud of the life he's lived.
Wondering all this, Ken sits at said desk, pondering the two items that'd been in his pockets upon his arrival. He hasn't seen anything like either of these objects anywhere in Sirocco - they're his only clues to his unique identity. Staring and hoping is foolish, but he can't help it. He can't look away.
He's working himself up into silent frustration, when suddenly, images start coming to him - images without context, without a plotline, moments here and there, all centered around a single individual. Not human - not family - but familiar.
It's more than he'd expected from the few anemoi he'd turned in. Ken hunches over the desk, hands clenching. That's right. He doesn't remember his family....but he was never alone. And now....What's he supposed to do? How's he supposed to be satisfied living here, if waiting for him, wherever he belongs, is --
"Wormmon," Ken whispers, bowing his head. And a voice behind him, so soft he almost mistakes it for a memory, answers.
"Ken-chan?"]
[public]
[What on Earth is Ken carrying around the apartment building? Whatever it is, it seems quite happy in his arms, and is listening to a rather excited Ken give a rather meager tour.]
...and the elevator is here, Wormmon, if we ever get separated. Ask someone for help if you can't reach the button.
[[ooc: 3% holiday regain + 2% hail regain = 5% spent on remembering Wormmon & that they're partners (but nothing about their adventures or the Digital World). Wormmon's memory has also been wiped.]]

Hey there, Blueberry-hair.
[Is that some green-tea ice cream green she smells?]
My, my. Who's that?
no subject
Ah, hello...this is Wormmon. My partner.
no subject
Hey, did you get a pet or something? He's kind of cute.
no subject
no subject
[Partner is kind of an odd description, though--partners for what? Rosalia looks around, wondering if she's missed something.]
Um, is everyone supposed to have a partner now...?
no subject
..Rosalia-san? Then, the Christmas present outside our door...
no subject
[Oh yeah, the presents.]
Yup, that was me! Did you like it?
no subject
Wormmon had some, too...
no subject
no subject
I'm sure everyone else appreciates it, too.

I hope to deserve my place in a community this warm.

--I should go. There's many places Wormmon still hasn't seen.

Then...
no subject
Ah, Ken. Is that a pet?
no subject
I remembered him, and, well...
no subject
...well, congratulations. [Then, addressing Wormmon:] Barnaby Brooks Junior. It's a pleasure to meet you, Wormmon.
no subject
It...is all right if he stays with us, right? I'll - look after him, and....
no subject
I suppose it wouldn't hurt. What does he eat, anyway?
[Because all he can cook right now are cabbage rolls, beef stroganoff and fried rice, and he needs to find out if he has to learn how to cook some new recipe in order to feed this new pet.]
no subject
Sharing my meals should be all right.
no subject
no subject
Thank you, Barnaby-san! I'll take full responsibility.
no subject
...New pet?
[New... weird... giant bug... pet?]
no subject
Ah - well - I remembered--
no subject
...Yuta. Yuta Takizawa.
What is he?
no subject
...is all I remember, too. The memories came, like I was hoping - and they were all of him.
He's a part of the world I'd forgotten.
no subject
[Yeah, talking to a giant bug is going to take some getting used to. But it doesn't seem that bad at least.]
...So it's normal for [Pets? Creatures?] his kind in your world?
no subject
...I don't really know. Neither he nor I remember much more than each other.
But - he knew my full name right away. Presumably, our memories have somehow synchronized.
no subject
no subject
It's possible being "partners" coordinated our memories. Though...
no subject
[He looks at Wormmon, and then Ken, and then back to Wormmon again.]
...Hey, think you two could remember at double the rate? Since there's two of you now.
no subject
I'll monitor what both of us recall. Anomalies might provide hints to this world's mechanism.
no subject
no subject
[He pauses.]
--Anyway, I'm showing Wormmon the city. Is there - anywhere you'd recommend?
[And yes, he's aware how odd that sounds when he's the one who showed you around initially.]
no subject
no subject
So you're already employed....
[Ken looks thoughtful. Wormmon, meanwhile, has perked up at the mention of food.]
no subject
no subject
I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
Is it far?
no subject
no subject
Isn't that great, Ken-chan? Jobs aren't hard to find!
...yeah.
[He gives Wormmon a smile, but stays focused on Yuta.]
We'll be sure to visit.

no subject
[And with a little bow of his head (which Wormmon mimics), Ken subjects Yuta once again to his inability to gracefully end a conversation. He'll be walking away now.
Wormmon moves a stubby leg in what might be a wave good-bye.]
