[To say this was an unusual situation was an understatement. Ky had shown up suddenly in a place he had no recollection of -- but then again, he had no recollection of anything regarding his past life, either. Then he'd been brought to a lab, had the situation explained, was made a government employee, and then given a communicator that was unmistakably blacktech in origin.

Though, as Ky was finding out quickly, the entire city seemed to run on blacktech. It couldn't be Zepp, which had him wondering if he'd gone back in time...if that was even possible.

At any rate, Ky was letting himself succumb to curiosity and walking around the city, exploring his new hometown. Later, after reaching his apartment, he left a message.]

If anybody is listening, I beg your pardon, but I have a question. Would anyone here be well-versed in weaponry? I arrived with a rather...unusual sword in my possession, and was wondering if anybody might be able to examine it and tell me what they can learn about it.

Dunno how much good it'll do you to ask a bunch of amnesiacs about specifics on swordplay. I could be the foremost expert on swords in the world and I would have no way of knowing it right now.

I thought that perhaps there may be someone who has regained enough of his or her memory to do that. Regardless of the result, it can't hurt to ask.

Mostly the shape of it. Additionally, I can feel something else from it when I hold it.

No, I don't think it's possessed. It's...I'm not sure how to describe it.

I want to see this sword just to figure out what you're talking about, even if I don't know anything about it.

So a stranger that can still steal your sword if you don't pay it any attention.

I never had the intention of simply dropping it off with someone and then walking away.

Then I hand the matter over to law enforcement.

Do you really think they would be all too eager to return a man's sword to him?

It's their job. I would hope they would seek a way to return what rightfully belongs to me.

Furthermore, I'm a government employee. Law enforcement would not ignore the plight of one who works for those who fund them.

Do you think you deserve special treatment for being employed by the government? Ha. I doubt that's the case anywhere, here especially.

Again, I should point out the fact that the government is responsible for the budget that goes to law enforcement.

I just think it's stupid to rely on them to handle things for you. Just don't make any mistakes like an idiot would and leave yourself open to such circumstances. That's all.

Believe me, I will. I wouldn't do such a thing without maintaining vigilance.
