Now that I think about it, I've been awfully tight-lipped when it comes to my memories. But I can't very well hold my tongue when it comes to this one! Maybe I shouldn't even be worrying, but a lot of us seem to have known each other in the past, and more new arrivals are showing up nearly every day.

It looks like I have some sort of nemesis back home, and like certain other villains, she's not above abducting young children. I wouldn't put it past her to follow me here, either. If anyone sees a blonde woman with a whip and a silly outfit, warn me as soon as you can. She went after my adopted siblings because our grandmother had treasure, so you kids should be safe as long as she doesn't think you have anything she wants.

Oh, and Yuri? This isn't the first time you've forgotten about me.

((OOC: 4% spent on most of the Bandit of Le Havre chapter. A few previous percents spent on fighting skills and geography trivia. Stealth edited to included Yuma and John.))

I've 8een living here for a while now, and I have not 8een spending it idly! No, as I said, I've 8een figuring out you humans as 8est I can. With how ridiculously weeeeeeeeird you are, this is not easy, 8ut 8etween watching people and reading up on the su8ject, I think I'm getting the h8ng of it!

O8serv8tions:
1. The human lifecycle seems to start with appearing randomly out of nowhere, in the middle of the street.
2. The new human is then a8ducted 8y adult humans who, as an initiation trial, attempt to talk them to death. This seldom works.
3. Once this trial is overcome, humans all get crammed into one pre-m8de 8uilding to live together. Sometimes multiple of them even live in the s8me room!
4. Despite these conditions, the goal is apparently NOT for the stronger humans to slaughter the weaker ones and advance the more desirable genes 8ack into the pool. No deathmatches in the hallways, no cullings of any kind!
5. The primary activity of at least this swarm of humans involves forming 8adass adventuring squads and r8iding the 8east-ridden outskirts to collect crystals. May8e this is why you're not trying to kill each other - if there were any fewer of you, the monsters would walk right in and slaughter everyone????????
6. At some point, 8ased on some sort of complicated set of specific8tions a8out things like gender for some reason, a human picks exactly one m8, for life. For life!
7. This is followed by a distur8ingly 8iological process that I'm not even going to talk a8out, oh my gog, which somehow results in more humans.
8. No horns! And your skin comes in all sorts of colors, all of them weird.

Humans sure are confusing! ::::?

Just how often do people remember things in pieces? Has anyone been able to recall a full memory, without any gaps?

The first thing I've been able to remember since arriving here... I can see the scene clearly, and I can hear a person talking to me... [Saying things that warm her heart, that seem to soothe a deep aching she wasn't really aware of until now. But she's not going to tell anyone else that.] But I can't remember this person's face, or their voice. It's like I'm talking to a shadow, and it's talking back through an audio filter... [Mami sighs. It's difficult talking about this, but at the same time, it's... nice? The memory is making her heart ache more and more whenever she thinks about it, so she needs to get it out somehow. And also...]

Also... has anyone ever heard of a "puella magi"?

((1% spent on the conversation prior to and the promise Madoka made to become her puella magi partner. Doesn't remember who exactly she was talking to, though.))

Who: Open to all!
What: Miscellaneous activities
When: Friday, 10/21
Where: Farmer Carol's farm.
How: ...Walking, running, skipping, or log-rolling are all acceptable.
Why: Because I want to.

As Palom had promised, the farm indeed boasted more wholesome family fun activities than you could shake an apple at.  While the main purpose of the day trip, ostensibly, was to finish up harvesting the fruit, the opportunity to explore the farm and its rural surroundings was enticing as well.  By mid-afternoon, Farmer Carol was fully satisfied with the hard work of the volunteers and announced that they were free to do as they pleased.

[Oh look it's this jerk again. He's lounging on the couch again, this time without beer. For the time being anyway. He has the most smug grin on his face imaginable right now.]

Listen up, citizens of Sirocco! Lots of you doubted the awesomeness of I, Gilbert Beilschmidt! Yes, that's right, I have recalled my full name! Isn't it the coolest name ever? Kesesesese~ Befitting someone as incredible as myself, I'd say!

But anyway! Those of you who doubted how awesome I am? In your face! I remembered more than just my name! I remembered a grand battle, in which I led a massive army and beat the crap out of some sissy in glasses! It was incredible how skilled I was, barking orders and trampling the foe into the ground! Bet none of you are that strong and respected! Kesesese~

[After quite some time of smug gloating, he suddenly pouts.]

Also, whoever decided that this Alfred guy should live with me is a jerk, I want my suite to myself back. ...At least Alfred is a pretty cool guy, though, so it could be worse. He's not as cool as me, but that's to be expected.

{Gilbert is remembering a battle from the War of Austrian Succession. Also feel free to mock him for not having a suite to himself anymore.}

Mokona's new job is running the Job board!

It goes up two times each month, so look out for it near the apartment doors!
If anyone ever wants a job done for them, just tell Mokona and she'll put it on the board!

This time, there are six jobs!

Helping People Jobs

- Farmer Murphy has lost a goat! She has floppy ears and a black patch on her nose and she loves eating petunias the best! He wants someone to find Maybell and bring her back soon!

- Farmer Carol's orchards are super full this year and she needs someone to help pick all the apples before they all get frozen! She'll take as many extra helpers as she can, and she says she'll throw in a bag of apples along with regular pay! She gave Mokona some for putting up the job; and they're really good!

Big Jobs

There's still a lot of wrecked buildings outside! It's safe, but there's no nice places to live yet. And that means that there's always a lot to do!

- The streets are really icky out there! They're covered in rubble and need to be cleaned! It's a long job, so it's good for someone without anything else to do! It's a really big job, so up to two people can do it. It's long and tough, so bring a friend to work and talk with! There might be anemoi in the rubble, and you can keep any you find!

- There's a big house near the walls that's dirty too! It needs to be cleaned up so people can do things with it. Again, it's a job for two people who really like housework and repairing things! You don't need to worry about water or lights yet, but everything needs to be clean and painted and not broken or rotten or anything.

Scary Jobs

- There's a big mean bird that keeps messing up gardens and scaring pets! Mokona's not walking home alone from now on, too! It's big and yellow and goes "WARK WARK WARK!!" It's not too good at flying, but it can jump high and runs really fast. People say it might be nesting near the old movie theater, since lots of feathers show up there.

- Sue Salvatore has a spooky ghost in her kitchen and it's really annoying her! If anyone is good with ghosts, they should go to her house at night and ask to see it!

((OOC: This is 100% mod-sanctioned; y'all, and you know what that means! FYI in this case it means memories. Or at least memories in some cases! It is pretty much like in RPGs where you collect all the chickens and you don't know whether you're getting rupees or an empty bottle or a basket full of live fish until you do it.

I'll be rolling out results via random number generator to remove bias, and even if they don't get anemoi they will at least get a nifty bonus item. What Mokona says doesn't necessarily mean that there absolutely will be or won't be anemoi attached to a particular job. It is a wonderful grab bag of memories and fun.

Some jobs have a Mod NPC associated with them! In this case, the ghost and the goat assignments do. The bird is a feral chocobo and can be NPCed by players.

As stated by Mokona, if you want your character to request a job, go for it! Heck, if you yourself just want a certain job up there, just PM or Plurk at me! I'm gonna be doing like twelve of these per month, I am always up for new material and I rarely bite.

And if there are any further questions, ask away! Also feel free to plan OOCly in here for now although if things get huge enough I'll probably start putting up a separate post for that sort of thing.))

I regained some memories, but they tell me little about my past. Should anyone need me, I will be in the park, training.

[Action]

[True to his word, Ky was in an open area in the park. He made sure that no one got too close, and then set to work practicing his fighting. For the most part it was sword slashes, but every now and then he'd do something else -- like the burst of electricity that would fly from his sword and strike a rock, or the upward leap with an electrified sword.

Feel free to catch him during a break.]

[Across the street from the hotel was a rather large park that Erk found himself drawn to regularly. When the library did not have what he required, he would simply take his studies outside. This was one of those times, as he was starting to talk to himself, getting a little frustrated with attempting to learn his own past.]

This is ridiculous. Intensifying a spell in theory designed for novices? That is hardly effective in any practical situation; intensification takes time, and anyone doing it outside of a controlled environment would find themselves too powerful or too slow. Given the combat purposes, a creature could rush in that kind of delay to leave a mage defenseless. Removing the amplifiers should reduce casting time by at least a factor of two, if not more. This is hardly the foundation that should be built upon...

[He goes back to his reading for a few seconds before a realization causes him to go wide-eyed.]

...amplifiers? This book did not point out amplifiers-

[Cutting himself off, he held an arm out, his arm and fingers tracing a pattern in the air, leaving a wispy blue aura in its place. A short chant later and the aura began to shift colors before burning, merging into a fireball hovering over his hand.]

[For the first time since his arrival, a genuine smile crept onto his face.]

Exiles, I request your attention once again! A particularly important memory has resurfaced in my mind.

[To the video screen, Valvatorez presents... a nice, shiny kitchen blender.]

What you see here was once an ordinary blender. However, following some recent investigation by myself, it is now a level 10 blender; it cuts faster, blends sharper, and I think it might be more energy efficient, too.

This was accomplished by entering and fighting my way through ten floors of the blender's Item World. Nearly every item small enough to be carried has an Item World of its own, and can be similarly improved. While this can be quite useful, it is also extremely dangerous. The deeper you travel into an Item World, the more dangerous of foes you may face - and high-grade items will have powerful monsters in their Item Worlds from the very beginning. Furthermore, you'll only have a chance to leave every ten floors, unless you bring a Mr. Gency's exit with you - I acquired one on my trip through this blender, and will gladly give it to someone who aims to practice some caution.

If anybody wishes to traverse the Item World, talk to me and I'll happily teach you how to enter them. However, this should not be attempted by the weak of power or soft of heart, nor would I advise going in alone if it can be avoided.

...Unrelatedly, I learned that my previous job title was "Prinny Instructor". A fine profession, although it changed to "Janitor" when I took on a new job this morning.

[[1% spent on the Item World, 1% spent on how to access his status screen. Item World lessons will be off-screened, as the game is extremely vague about how it works. Contact me if you have more questions about how all this zaniness works.]]

Ughhhhh! [ A groan of disgust is such an improper way of starting a phone call. ] I've got a question for everyone! That's what we've been using these stupid things for, right? Right, so listen up if you will.

[ A pause. ]

Or don't. See if I care. I really don't if you're not paying attention or anything. It isn't as though I'm going to find every one of you and shake you until you listen to me. [ Even if it sounds like something she might do. ] I'm not the only one who's remembering things randomly, correct? We've established such things for the most part already.

[ Abrasively clearing her throat before she continues. Hesitantly, she forces herself to ask the strange question that lays dormant in the back of her mind. ]

Has anyone remembered something strange? For example, something like drawing out your own blood with a needle and injecting it into gemstones.

[ It's official, she decides. She must have had some sort of sick fetish in her life prior. If that's the case, why did she just ask a bunch of strangers in her 'second life' such a strange question? ]

While Isshin has not commented on what happened during the anemoi expedition he organized a few days ago (He came home covered in dirt and feathers, and refuses to elaborate on why.), he just got the two anemoi gems that were his share of the haul processed, and as such, has gotten some memories back.

Which is why he's quickly striding towards his apartment while muttering "Not going to cry not going to cry..." over and over.

He made it back, opened the door, and found a poster waiting for him and tacked up on the wall so it's the first thing you see when you walk in. After taking it in, he immediately burst into tears and collapsed against the wall, like he was attempting to hug the person in it (much like in the picture.).

He is audible from quite some distance away.

[2% spent on his wife, Masaki (the lady on the poster) and that she was killed by Grand Fisher. These memories will probably make more sense when he knows what hollows are.]
