So I suppose I should really try to be a little more open about what I'm remembering from my past after all that stuff with the Onis.. Not that there's really anything exciting, though. Just some stuff from a village I used to live in before moving to a bigger town and meeting my friends. I'm sure a lot of you probably have similar memories.

*He is, of course, only telling a half-truth. The early stuff is the easy stuff. The memories that came back recently about his life AFTER the mansion are too painful to deal with in public -- and, honestly, unlike the Onis, not really anybody's business.*

Hey. I'm sorry to impose, but I don't suppose you could tell me any more about these EVOs you were talking about, could you? Only you're the first person I've run into besides myself who's met monsters they knew from where they came from, and it could be really important to keep some data about them in case more show up.

The last expedition yielded a lot of results. Should I start from the beginning then, sir?

((OOC: Hiroshi didn't really bother with the post green gunk grab, so he only has about 4% to spread around. Part of that is from his early childhood in a more superstitious village, and part of it is from the social aftermath of the mansion incident. He's going to be more inclined to talk about the former than the latter unless you're close, and even then it'll be like squeezing blood from a stone.))

Certainly, let's get started.

It's a growing list... Something tells me it's kind of a weighted average. A lot of little trivial memories, counterbalanced by a relative few important ones.

*He flips through.*

The first things they fought were some sort of bird. About the size of large eagles, I'd say. Plumage color was yellow and grey. Very aggressive and territorial. Generally attack like birds. One of them seemed to stop and look around as if trying to see something, but besides that I didn't get to observe anything too unusual.

I would have preferred a trivial memory. The first memory I got back was one of those things' ugly mugs.

Did they fly, or did they stick primarily to the ground?

[The man opens the notepad and starts writing out the details]

Mostly flight-based, sir. I sketched one as best as I could, but I'm not much of an artist.

The first thing?

[Ugh. Poor kid. He runs a hand over his hair, and then puts on a smile.]

...Hey, don't worry. We got them, remember? You've got plenty of time now, in which you can get back plenty of good old boring memories! The worst is behind you.

*Not entirely. The most recent memories hadn't been much better -- the looks of distrust from the other students, the PTSD, the need to move to a whole new town because the pressure and his own trauma made his grades start dropping. The look on his father's face when they finally wheedled him down that maybe Hiroshi needed therapy, like he was broken goods. And... the unfortunate theories he formed to deny the blue things' existence...*

...I suppose so.

Hey, for what it's worth, you're not alone when it comes to freaky creatures. I thought I was losing my mind out there in the ruins when we met up with those sonic-attacking eyeball creatures. Part of me could SWEAR I'd seen the damn things before! But at the same time I can't figure out how or where...

Wait, you think you recognized those things? Why didn't you say anything?

I thought I did! Wait-- [He facepalms.] Oh jeez, now I remember. They'd set off that sonic shock wave already. I tried to say something, but no one could HEAR me.

Right. So you say they seem familiar, but you don't remember where or how?

Sure, if you wanna know more about EVOs. What do you want to know in particular?

Anything will help. If my hypothesis is correct, people who come here bring some of their world's wildlife with them, which means there's a good chance there's more out there. Any information that could help people deal with them would be useful.

I don't actually remember all that many EVOs right now, but that giant rabbit that attacked us when we got out of the cave? I definitely remember that one--and all the bruises it gave me!

You mean besides the ones it gave you THEN?

*He shakes his head.*

Anyway, I just want to make sure I have as much information as I can. Does it have any weaknesses? Where did it come from? Things like that.

I dunno about any weaknesses, or where it came from. All I can tell you is that it used to be a regular little bunny before it went EVO and turned into that thing. All I know is that I had to trap and contain it, but it kept beating me and getting away.

"Went EVO?" Wait, what do you mean "went?"

[He nods.]

Yeah, it's a big help, I know. I'll supplement that with whatever else I figure out... but I don't get it. Why THOSE things? Hell, they look like aliens! Even to me!

That's a little like Mokona's early memories, too!

[Rex shrugs.] That's how EVOs work. One moment they're just like any other person, or animal, or plant, and then the next, the nanites in 'em decide to go berserk. Usually, they turn into some huge rampaging monster.

I couldn't tell you for sure. I wish I could say that bodes well for where you come from, though. When I first saw the blue monster's face again, I thought it was just a dream until I saw it in the flesh.

Wait, you're saying this is like some sort of artificial VIRUS? Do you realize how bad that is?

*Okay, so he may defy the laws of physics, but he can't help but like Mokona these days.*

Oh? What sort of things did you remember, Mokona?

Mokona was born in a small place and lived there for a while. Then she went traveling and met lots of new friends.
