Ughhhhh! [ A groan of disgust is such an improper way of starting a phone call. ] I've got a question for everyone! That's what we've been using these stupid things for, right? Right, so listen up if you will.

Or don't. See if I care. I really don't if you're not paying attention or anything. It isn't as though I'm going to find every one of you and shake you until you listen to me. [ Even if it sounds like something she might do. ] I'm not the only one who's remembering things randomly, correct? We've established such things for the most part already.

[ Abrasively clearing her throat before she continues. Hesitantly, she forces herself to ask the strange question that lays dormant in the back of her mind. ]

Has anyone remembered something strange? For example, something like drawing out your own blood with a needle and injecting it into gemstones.

[ It's official, she decides. She must have had some sort of sick fetish in her life prior. If that's the case, why did she just ask a bunch of strangers in her 'second life' such a strange question? ]

It was a huge, brown, shaggy thing, with a big white mask, and it had a tail that it could disguise as a person that it used to lure people away.

I had a memory return as well, but it was of something rather ordinary: my job. I haven't remembered anything I would consider odd yet.

I wouldn't be too troubled. It's likely your memory will make sense to you once you have more context for it. [What she mentioned sounds quite unusual to him, but surely there are all kinds of possible explanations.]

That could be the case, but it's the only thing I know so far, so it's hard to say. [He doesn't think he'd mind being ordinary.] I recalled a memory of myself practicing law yesterday.

It's possible. Once all your memories are returned, it could seem entirely normal to you. Our memories are returning to us in random order. We might get parts of them first that won't make sense without certain other pieces of the puzzle.

I remember only a brief period of my career, but at that time, I was a district attorney, so yes, a prosecutor. I will give you legal advice, if you need it. First I have to learn the laws of this city, however.

But then again, I might be a poor judge when it comes to normality. All I can clearly remember is beating off a Peryton with a fish.

A Peryton. One-legged stags with wide blue wings and firey antlers. What I don't remember was why I was fighting them in the middle of Russia, of all places.

I don't remember much about the fish, either, but it did pack a good solid wallop.
