anemoi | First memory, first love.

*Kotetsu's a pretty fun-loving guy, and the theme park had been a blast. But all good things have to come to an end eventually, and without the park to distract him, all he's got right now is an empty past and a bitter awareness of the huge gaps in his personal knowledge that his arrival to this place had brought. Not that he'd ever admit it to anybody, but the loss of memories had hit him hard. There was a lot he had done in his life, he's certain of it, and the size of the hole is palpable.

He sighs, flopping onto the couch, holding his hat on his head. A little something would be nice. Just a morsel.

And it's about this point that he notices the ring sitting on the coffee table.

He frowns, reaching towards it. He knows this ring, he realizes in a flash. A brief memory runs through his head of a marriage ceremony, and a beautiful woman with long dark hair standing next to him, cutting cake. The name comes to him unbidden: Tomoe.

He has a wife. She's waiting for him.

He smiles, slipping the ring onto his finger. Only with it back on does he register how much it had been missing, the familiar cool metal against his skin. Well then. He's got more reason than ever to get his memories back, and to find a way home. She's waiting for him, after all.*

All right... Wait for me, Tomoe. I'll get back to you soon enough.

*Re-energized, he gets up. Time for a walk around the compound, he thinks. Which is... probably where you're going to run into him, humming a little tune to himself.*

Well excuse me for actually wanting to remember the woman I married! God, the hell is wrong with you?!

Hm? I don't recall making a negative judgment on the matter.

*Blatantly, anyway. Cry more, old man.*

I have amnesia. Following that logic, there's something "wrong" with you, too.

*Oh, he's beginning to think there's more wrong with this guy than a simple bout of amnesia.*

Look, I got a memory. It's a starting point, and I'm sticking with it. So you can keep that tone of voice to yourself, got it?

Is that a threat or a heedless warning?

*Come, Kotetsu, make this more entertaining for him.*

*He's SO tempted to make it a threat. This guy's beginning to get on his nerves, and combined with the return of that on edge feeling he's had ever since losing his memory, it'd be SO tempting to just knock his block off right here and there. But he can't shake the feeling the guy's just trying to start shit now, and really, what's it going to accomplish? Hitting a guy just makes HIM look like a bigger asshole if there's no real reason for it.

He scoffs a bit, lowering his hat with a slightly ironic smile.*

You know what, I'm gonna let you make what you want of it. Or anything I say, really. We gotta work together anyway.

Together?

*The word is echoed airily, and Saleh laughs faintly.*

I see. Well, you're that sort of person.

*The ones that try to rationalize and act "civil" to be a better person or something like that. It grates on his nerves a little, but as long as Kotetsu keeps things interesting, he'll see how long he can put up with it before he gags on the goodness.*

*"And you're a different sort of person altogether," he finds himself thinking. Something about this guy seriously rubs him the wrong way.

Hope you remember something more substantive yourself. Well, see ya.

*He lifts a hand lazily as he walks by. He definitely wants to keep an eye on that guy, though. Just for that one moment he steps out of line.

Then civility gets to go right out the window.*
