[The hospital. Not Shirou's favorite place in the world. But when he got Rin back safely from that wrecked ship, it was the only place he could think of to take her. At least there, the nurses could get her out of her wet clothes and monitor her condition until she awoke.

Not that that did much for Shirou's mental well-being. After changing out of his own wet clothes, he returned to the hospital out of concern for his friend. At varying points, before Rin wakes up, Shirou can be found in the hallways or in the cafeteria.]

[Action; Locked to Rin]

[Shirou is sitting in a chair near the bed in which Rin lay. He's been here for a little while, as evidenced by his nodding off.]

[ Instead of retaliating with cruel words and her misplaced anger, Rin settles down calmly on the bed. ]

I would have died?

[Okay. Deep breath.]

There was a good chance of it. That's why I jumped in and cut you free.

Geez. You really are reckless.

[ Maybe a normal girl would be thanking him, but all she can think about is how stupid he was to give his life for a near-stranger. ]

You shouldn't do things like that anymore. What if you get hurt?

If I get hurt saving a life, I don't care. Getting injured is a smaller price to pay than watching someone die.

What if you're the one to die in return? Don't be stupid, Shirou!

Well, if that happens, at least it'd be my choice.

I can't accept that kind of answer! It's so selfish!

Carelessly giving your life without worrying about the impact it would have on others! That's selfish, Shirou!

[ She seems more agitated with the idea of his death than the fact she almost died herself. ]

...Uh. I guess I hadn't thought about that.

[Not that it shakes his resolve enough to get him to stop.]

Well, you better start thinking about it now! Do you think I want you to die instead of me if that kind of stupid situation ever occurred? Leaving me by myself to wallow in guilt and pity.. That's not a kind act at all!

But then if you died, then I would have been the one feeling guilty. So what am I supposed to do?

For arguing with someone who's in a hospital bed.

[For that, Rin gets a look of stunned silence. What is this girl's logic.]

[ Speaking of her logic, she's going to take a hand to the tape holding the IV in place and tug at it. ]

I'm awake now, so let's get out of here. I can't stand hospitals. [ She's not sure why, but she's sure she dislikes them. ] Unless you want to stay here. Then you can have this bed all you want.

[Seeing Rin tug on the IV jars him back into reality.]

Whoa, wait! Let's get a nurse to do that. Where's the button?

I don't need a nurse to pull a needle out of my arm, Shirou.

[ This is the girl that does weird stuff with needles and gemstones. ]

I'm annoyed they put it in this arm. It hurts enough as is.

[Meanwhile, Shirou finds the button and presses it.]

They had to keep you hydrated somehow. Now stop it.

It wasn't as though I was out for a long time. Someone could have woken me up and given me a glass of water.

[ Stare. ]

Did you just call for the nurse? [ Twitch. ]

[Shirou didn't have time to answer, because a nurse had just walked into Rin's room. Upon seeing that she was awake, the nurse removed the IV and applied a bandage, then left to get the discharge papers.]

Uh.

[ Surprisingly enough, she behaves for the nurse, giving a smile and being all around pleasant with her. Once she's gone though, she'll shoot him a glare. ]

Well, what was I supposed to do? Besides, I thought you wanted to get out of here. This'll do it faster.

I could have just walked out if you let me.

Come on though, let's leave.
