You know, I thought that getting a job here in town would be a way easier of way of getting those gems than wandering around in the wilderness and hoping to get lucky, but now that I'm actually looking into it, I've realized something.

I have no idea what kind of qualifications I have.

I myself have just remembered that I'm a lawyer. I'm sure you're likely to recall your qualifications, or something about them, relatively soon.

Or perhaps some of the personnel responsible for our welfare can assist you with job placement.

A lawyer, huh? I think it's pretty safe to say I wasn't anything fancy like that.

Maybe I'll ask them if I can't come up with anything on my own.

Who can say? Perhaps you'll surprise yourself. What is it you'd like to do?

I don't remember nearly enough of my career to begin practicing, but I might find work with a law firm, to start. I was thinking of asking them if they had any connections or suggestions.

I guess the law would probably be different here, anyway. As for me, I don't know, nothing's really jumped out at me as interesting yet. Maybe whatever job I had back home isn't very common here.

Exactly. I'll have to study and pass the bar all over again.

You could be right. If you're from somewhere very different, there could be jobs there that are unknown here. I also didn't feel any particular pull toward a legal career until I remembered, so an affinity might return with your memories. What are your interests generally?

Well, I've been keeping up with my exercise without really thinking about it, but other than that, nothing really productive.

[He brightens a little.] As have I. [He's noticed, in addition to the scars, that he is quite physically fit. He assumes he simply has an interest in fitness. It feels like second nature to him.]

Perhaps you'd prefer a more physically active job, then.

Maybe there's a gym hiring somewhere. I'll look into that.

That seems like a fine option, until you remember your actual qualifications.

Joining a gym isn't a bad idea, now that you mention it.
