*Kotetsu hums to himself as he works with a piece of material he'd picked up from the store. The money from all that random junk they'd picked up in the Item World had turned out to be more than sufficient to pay for the damages to the kitchenette, to his great satisfaction. And now a memory's returned, and somehow he feels like he needs something to accompany it. Something... familiar.

He finishes his work and holds it out in front of him. A little crude, but it'll do for the time being. Just a little bit of elastic banding and...*

[ACTION; ON THE ROOF OF THE ERMIS SUITES]

*He stands up here, the familiar feeling of a mask around his eyes, his hands on his hips, looking out over the skyline.*

All right, Sirocco, listen up! You don't have to worry anymore! Crime, disaster, mayhem -- all of it! You've got a guy here who's going to take care of everything for you! For I am... Wild Tiger!

*Cue a dynamic set of moves!*

And evil is going to quaver at... my WILD ROAR!

*Pause. He relaxes, rubbing the back of his head, grinning.*

Ahhhh, that feels great! I can't believe I forgot all of that.

Ah, well... I mean, I just gotta do what I can, right? I mean, as long as I'm out there, fighting to defend people, it's... an icon or something. Sorta. If I could get more people in on it, we could really make sure innocent people stay safe.

[Yuri folds his arms over his chest, unimpressed by this logic.]

As I said, I approve of your aims, but you are aware that fighting crime on your own in this manner is vigilantism, aren't you? Vigilantism is dangerous. You could harm yourself or others, or at the very least, damage property, and you would be liable. [Damage property... There's something oddly familiar about that.]

The proper way to fight crime is to contact the authorities. You need to liaison with the local government if you are going to carry this plan out. It's not so easy to fight criminals--or "disaster and mayhem", as you put it. One can't approach it haphazardly.

*That's probably because back home, Kotetsu's picture would've been in the dictionary next to "damaged property" if two word phrases were allowed.*

I know, I know. Just don't feel like I can sit back and do nothing either. But hey, you said you might push for doing stuff like that more officially, right? Any progress on that?

[He'll eventually remember all the fines Kotetsu has had to pay over the years.] I can understand your restlessness.

I've been looking into it, but these things take time. I'll need details, and to outline a comprehensive program.

Perhaps for now you could content yourself with safeguarding the streets as an unarmed crime patroller? You could make citizen's arrests and contact the proper authorities. I can easily provide you with a list of neighborhoods that could most use such a patrol. I only ask that you be careful. I'll talk to the police chief about it.

I'll try, but no promises. People's lives always come first, after all.

Of course, the innocent must be protected from evil. [He pauses. That hadn't been exactly what he'd meant to say.]

But it must be done properly, for everyone's safety, your own included.

[Yuri suppresses a frown. He doesn't have a good feeling about this. This man seems entirely too reckless.] Mr. Kaburagi, I don't-- [He breaks off suddenly, and then he does frown, not quite sure why he called him that.] Kotetsu, I mean. I don't feel reassured by that.

Is it? [He pauses again, honestly surprised. He hadn't expected that to be the case.]

I really don't know. The name suddenly came into my mind while I was speaking to you. [He tries to dredge up some connected memory, but he draws a frustrating blank. He shakes his head.] No, I don't remember anything else.

*He blinks.*

But it can't be a coincidence, can it? I mean, "Kaburagi" isn't exactly "Smith" or "Chen" or "Tanaka," is it?

No, I wouldn't say so. All at once, I felt sure that I should call you that. I have no idea why. [It's somewhat maddening, actually, since he has absolutely no idea how they might have been acquainted. He concentrates again, with great determination, and actually manages to add a middle initial.]

Kotetsu T. Kaburagi? It's undeniably a name I know.

*He frowns. He hadn't expected this. At all.*

Hey... you know about NEXTs, at least?

[Yuri is still frowning as well. He doesn't know what to make of this.]

NEXTs? No, I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Hm.

*He crosses his arms.*

Still, I don't think we can get around the fact that unless it's a BIG FREAKING coincidence, we know each other somehow. Who'd have thought, huh? Guess that just gives us more reason to work together!

I remember only my name and a small portion of my legal career. And now your name. [It's not a lie to leave out the blue fire, as that wasn't a memory so much as an accident. He won't remember his sewing/costuming until a few hours later.]

It's safe to say we're likely acquainted in some way. Yes, it is not something I'd expected, and I suppose it does. [He's going to try to be optimistic and not point out that there are a variety of ways two people can know each other.]

It's all kind of crazy -- but then, showing up somewhere with no memory and having to find it as treasures is crazy enough in itself.

It's an entirely absurd situation, I agree. It's also not unthinkable that some of us might unknowingly be acquainted already.
