[Either Ike doesn't know about the training center or he doesn't feel he can afford to use it yet, because he's out in the park. He's off the beaten path, in a clear area, wielding a beautiful two-handed sword.

...With one hand.

Other than that, the scene shouldn't look too unusual. The moves that Ike is practicing are all basic sword techniques, because that's all he remembers. Sometimes muscle memory will cause him to do something more complex, but those instances are uncommon.

[Moist has been going around conning people, actually--random people off the street, mostly--and has pocketed at least some money (and a few other knickknacks). He's taking a break right now in the park, having bought a hot dog for some reason, and notices the glint off the sword as he's eating it.

He approaches, and stands off in the corner, just watching. He doesn't really want to get closer, in case something might happen and he gets something lopped off by accident.]

[Ike doesn't notice right away, too engrossed in his swordplay. Eventually, however, he does notice. Deciding he's ready for a break anyway, he stops and slips the sword back into his belt.]

Can I help you?

Oh, no, no, don't mind me. Carry on, I'm just watching.

[Ike resists the temptation to sigh. He should have figured he'd attract some attention.]

Well, not for now. I'm taking a break.

It just so happens I'm taking a break as well.

[Taking a bite out of his hot dog.] There's a cart somewhere around here. Their wares are...well, tasty, if you stretch the definition.

So I see. What kind of food is that, anyway?

It's the kind of food that's rather hard to describe, except that it's very greasy. I might have eaten something like it before, though I can't really remember.

Greasy, huh? It sounds like there are better things to eat.

*The fox woman likes nature, and the park seems to be the safest example of it. Aside from people practicing swordplay, it seems.

She stops to watch. Hmm.*

Goodness, isn't that rather unwieldly?

Huh?

[That gets his attention. He stops.

And yes, he notices the tails. The only thing unusual to him, though, is the number.]

Uh, what do you mean?

I mean, that sword is clearly designed for use with both hands. I would imagine it is quite heavy to wield with but one such as how you are doing it.

You think so? But this was how I was taught to wield it, and I don't have any trouble doing it.

My word, you must be quite strong for a human. I could not imagine trying to heft a blade in such a way myself! To be fair, however, I rarely have had the patience for such styles of combat.

[A laguz using the word "human," but not speaking with any sort of contempt in her voice...Ike isn't quite sure what to make of that.]

My strength is the first thing I noticed when I arrived here. Apparently these muscles aren't just for show.

So it seems. Perhaps you should join these expeditions I have been hearing about! You look as though you would be quite useful.

I'm hoping to soon, but I'm not sure I have enough to go on yet.

How much more could you possibly need? You already seem to have quite the form.

This is only the basics, though. I haven't remembered anything advanced.

I look forward to seeing the advanced techniques, then! Still, I imagine you could at least handle the small things, right?

[Shampoo stops from her jog and watches with amusement. Her own memory of swordplay is limited but she can tell that this man knows what he's doing.

When Ike does a more advanced move, she claps and finally breaks her silence.]

That quite impressive, especially with two handed sword there.

Uh.

[Ike looks at the girl, then at the sword. Then back at the girl.]

I'm not sure how I did that. My muscles just acted on their own.

It takes long time to hone skills like that. You must have use move often before here.

[She glances at the sword. It is quite a pretty thing though she's never seen that type before.]

Shampoo knows basic of the four major weapons but I never seen a sword like that! It beautiful! It put my jian back home to shame.

I guess so, but I'll probably have to wait a while longer to figure that one out for sure.

Yeah, this is some sword. I don't remember much about swords yet, but I can still tell that this one is something special, in more ways than one.

Hm, wouldn't it be faster to remember your moves with sparring partner? Cutting at the air can only go so far. And who knows, maybe your sword will show it true self in battle or something.

I'm not really trying to remember right now. I'm just practicing. I've got a job down at the docks, and I'll be getting paid soon, so maybe once I get those anemoi processed.

I see, I see. I guess that would be faster than working it out by body memory alone. But aww, now I'm curious about your sword! I know, come by Cat Cafe whenever you remember anything about it.

Ah, it's my new Chinese restaurant south of Ermis Suites. Cat Cafe isn't open yet but it will be soon.

Chinese? That's one of the kinds of food I haven't tried yet. I'll check it out.

[ She's sitting now to watch him train. ]

I get the feeling there's still plenty left to remember.

Where did you get such weapon?

I don't know. It was hooked into my belt when I arrived.

You're a lucky one. Most of us don't get anything from our worlds until very late.

[ She sounds annoyed, yes. ]

I wouldn't call it luck. I just got into the habit of carrying a sword with me at all times. Since I got training in it, it makes sense.

You don't say. Though your style is still rusty thanks for the memory loss, am I right?

It's more "incomplete" than "rusty." All I remember are the basics.

Boring, though at least it's something to be looking forward.

Though who knows how long it's going to take...

That depends on how much you take in finding the Anemoi.

Possibly. But I can't control the order I get memories back in, so even if I do get a lot of anemoi processed, that doesn't mean I'd get the rest of my style back soon.

Oh, but you don't know that until you tried, right?

That's right. That's why I have a job. And soon, I'm going to start getting involved in searches.
