Autumnal Avocations
Who: Open to all!
What: Miscellaneous activities
When: Friday, 10/21
Where: Farmer Carol's farm.
How: ...Walking, running, skipping, or log-rolling are all acceptable.
Why: Because I want to.
As Palom had promised, the farm indeed boasted more wholesome family fun activities than you could shake an apple at. While the main purpose of the day trip, ostensibly, was to finish up harvesting the fruit, the opportunity to explore the farm and its rural surroundings was enticing as well. By mid-afternoon, Farmer Carol was fully satisfied with the hard work of the volunteers and announced that they were free to do as they pleased.

[ Peering towards it. ]
See? I was right all along!

[He pulls the marshmallow away from the flame.]
See, I want to soften it up, like this. Then I take a graham cracker, break it in half, and take a piece of chocolate, and...
[Ky grabs a graham cracker and a piece of chocolate. He breaks the graham cracker in half, then puts the chocolate on it, followed by the marshmallow. He then adds the other half of the graham cracker, squishing the marshmallow in the process.]
This is the end result. It's called a s'more. It's a popular camping treat.

[ Well, it smells good at least if her loud sniffs in the air are any indication. ]
Ahh... it smells so good though. I can see why it's popular. It's because of the chocolate, right? Everyone loves chocolate!
no subject
[Okay, how do answer this.]
Well. The marshmallow is...able to be softened. The chocolate would melt and make a mess, and you...can't really soften graham cracker.
[Though after that, he puts on a smile.]
Not quite. The combination of ingredients is delicious. Would you like this one? I can just as easily make another.

There must be a way to do it with science. We should pull out our phones and ask everyone what they think. There's got to be a scientist that can answer ---oh, I can really have one?
no subject
Yes, absolutely. I'll get started on one for myself, so don't feel as if you're taking it from me.
[He extends the hand holding the s'more.]

> It's Super Effective. ]
Mmm♪ This tastes so great!!

[Ky reaches for another marshmallow and holds it out in front of the fire.]
You know, thinking about it, it's strange. I can recognize the taste of a s'more, but I can't remember actually having one. I almost want to say, "It's been a long time since I've had one," but without my memories, I don't know that for certain.
Have you had any experiences like that here, if you don't mind my asking?

[ She's in an excellent mood if she's practically singing her joy over it. Even when he starts to talk about something serious, it takes her a couple of minutes before her own mood evens out to the same level. ]
Sometimes. It just feels as though I know how to do certain things. Like with that strange looking sword I have.
no subject
Strange-looking sword?
...Wait, is that the "it" you referred to on your first day here?
no subject
[ What does that have to do with anything, Kaguya? ]
Yes, it's a pretty large sword. I can lift up easily but it's really about as big as me!
[ And there's plenty of her. ]
no subject
Really? It's as big as you are? If you can use that, that's impressive.
[It also feels a bit nostalgic to him. Of course, he doesn't know why.]
Is there a reason why you concealed it?
no subject
Oh, I hid it because I didn't want to look hostile. There's a lot of people here that don't remember things and that's pretty frightening. If they see some of us are armed, they might be less willing to befriend those who are. I really just didn't want to lose out on any opportunities to become someone's pal.
Then again, I did lie about it. I guess I'm pretty dishonest and not worthy of being a friend, right?
no subject
We haven't known each other very long, but I can tell that you have multiple redeeming qualities. One lie isn't enough to negate them.

You had a justifiable reason, that's why. I would be less forgiving if that were not the case.
no subject
Well, I wouldn't have a reason to tell a big lie. [ On that note: ] You wouldn't lie to me, right?
no subject
[Rather than straight up answer the question, he tries to divert it.]
What...what brought this on?
