BAD END

[Months in the future, but not many...

It all went wrong six months ago, when Hiroshi tried to banish the oni. It didn't work as expected. In fact it did the exact opposite. The rod only effected maybe one person in ten, but that was more than enough. Each effected person had exploded, revealing a fully formed, blue, mindless killing machine. Within a week, half the city was dead or worse, the rest running for their lives. Now Sirocco is in burning ruins, with oni wandering the streets, chasing and killing anyone they come across.

The last survivors are holed up in the laboratory at the heart of the city. The oni haven't managed to find a way in quite yet, but it's only a matter of time.

Dave abruptly stands up from where he had been sitting in the corner, getting some rest.]

That's it. I give. This is a lost cause.

[ooc: Just as described, this is in the future. However, it's not the only future. This is a splinter timeline, and none of the events leading up to this are actually going to happen after the Ao Oni plot is resolved. To that end, when tagging this feel free to make up various horrible or heroic things that have happened over the last few months. The vast majority of the game's cast are probably dead or turned to Oni by this point, so if you don't tag here, it's likely you're dead.

Again, these events will not come to pass and have no effect on the game outside of this post beyond what Future Dave and Supernova remember.]

Smartass. [He hobbles back to get a better scope of the whole board, running a hand over his hair absently.] Nngh... Damn langrangian transfers. It seemed like half the town can screw around with time all they want, and I'm still trying to figure out how it's physically possible.

Oho, trust me, I can overthink all kinds of things when I want to. We made a long-range non-disassociative teleporter for god's sake. I'll figure it out.

[Plus he's got nothing better to do...]

Wait, you're going back?! Are you high?? I can't even begin to think about the recursion paradox that'll--

[He stops, eyes the equation board, and then tosses the marker aside.]

Ugh, you know what? Screw causality. It and I were never on very good terms anyway. Besides, worst that'll happen is you destroy this timeline. Considering how much it sucks around here, I don't think anyone'll mourn it. You going alone?
trustycrowbar: (I wonder...)

[He nods, leaning on the corroded iron cane. He wasn't asking with the pretense of joining him... Not really.] What about gear? Can you take anything back with you? As long as going to ravage the linear flow of time, we may as well go balls-out.

[He thinks for a moment, looking around the dilapidated and rubble-strewn lab room. They don't have much to give, first of all, and he didn't want himself to vanish in a puff of logic if he sent him a card with his entire life story written on it. That and it would be a really big card.]

Wait... I got something.

[He hobbles to the back of the room and produces... a large red crowbar? He tosses it onto the examination table with a clatter as he hauls himself back, wincing from the weight on the leg.]

Make sure my younger stupider self gets this. It doesn't look like anything special but it's got... sentimental value.

[He nods.] You too. You're the one that needs it.
