I hope everybody is having a nice week. Last week I was kidnapped by a pirate, then rescued by a ghost. The experience would have put me off of miniature golf permanently, but I don't really think it's the game for me either way.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, thanks to whoever dealt with the whole comic book villainy thing that was happening, with the costumes and the rhyming couplet dialogue. I am okay with it not being a thing anymore.

I-I've got something to say, too!

It's really important and you all have to be paying really close attention, OK?! I'm pretty sure no one else has said anything even close to being this important. I guess I should apologize if it makes you faint or something, but it's not really my fault if you're so bad at taking super important information. I mean, it's the kind of thing that you only hear once in a thousand years! I think we all know by now that our collective ability to withhold information is impaired, possibly due to some sort of psychosomatic gas or radiation. So to cut to the chase, I'm a bounty hunter who primarily takes contracts from the Galactic Federation Army on the condition that I have full autonomy whenever possible.

I have special permission to access things like confidential GFA logs and restricted areas due to connections I made actually working for the Federation officially when I was younger. Essentially, I'm a VIP among problem solvers, though I still can't remember any specific missions from either part of my career.

Also, Gordon, I managed to decrypt the data you were looking for and upload it in the lab. I'd have told you in private, but...

Looks like I'm going to be blurting out everything I remembered just like the rest of you idiots.

I come from the continent of Tellius. There were normal people like me there, but there were also stinking half-beasts we called sub-humans. Well, some people called them laguz. I guess that's the proper word. Anyway, they were half-animal, half-human, and they could take full animal forms to fight. Complete savages, basically.

Here's the confusing part. I was fighting alongside these smelly freaks as part of some Laguz Alliance. I don't get why. I must have been blackmailed or pressured into it. It's like some kind of stupid joke that this is the first thing I remember. It almost makes me sick to my stomach.

Something a little better--I learned that I'm a master archer. Probably the best on the continent. I always knew I was the best at something, but it feels good to figure out what, exactly.

There! I said it! I don't even know why because it's not like they were weighing on my head but it's like a big freaking burden's been lifted!

*Something's been niggling a bit at Ran recently. A memory. She wonders if this is the hole she's been feeling, the missing piece of herself.

She had a shikigami. A servant, although she feels as though she was more than that, in an odd sort of way. She's not sure anybody here would really understand. But ever since she had the memory, she's felt a longing, the urge to fill that missing space. Temporarily, at least. She cannot imagine anything would ever replace the child in her memory.

She passes by the pet store, and pauses.

About an hour later, she emerges, now with a cat and a bunch of cat supplies. Uh oh, she's not gonna become one of THOSE types of women, is she?*

reflections are creepy.

It's not just me, right? My reflection has eyes and moves around. If I look at it, it looks back. But it's not alive. What's up with that. It freaks me out.
